Overall, don’t be put off by the size of the HUION H420X OSU Tablet Graphic Drawing Tablet. I swapped out using the cable that came with the tablet, and instead of using a USB-C to USB-C cable, which plugs into my phone better. I also experimented with using the tablet on my Amazon Fire HD8+ tablet, using the ArtRage Vitae app – got it to work. Did notice some lagging as I was drawing, but chalked that up to be more an issue with the phone and not the tablet. Using the tablet/pen with the drawing app worked great. His phone recognized the tablet immediately. Setting up the tablet pretty much was using the USB cable to connect the tablet to my phone (LG G6+).
You can find the best software for the tablet here. I couldn’t find the Huion Sketch app on the Google Play store (nor Amazon’s app store) – so instead, I’m using the ArtRage Vitae mobile app. The tablet is small – 6 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ – the actual drawing area is 4 1/4″ x 2 5/8″ – but I’ve noticed some non-profit drawing functionality outside the drawing area – pulling down menus.
